About the Role

The Migration Programme Manager is responsible for the end-to-end ownership and delivery of a complex, multi-site migration programme executed in structured 12-week cycles. This role ensures that migration volume targets, timelines, quality standards, and governance controls are consistently achieved across all waves.

The role acts as the single point of accountability for programme delivery, ensuring that migrations are executed as a cohesive, repeatable programme rather than a series of independent transitions.

Programme Ownership & Delivery

  • Own and manage the full lifecycle of the migration programme, from planning through execution to closure
  • Ensure delivery of all migrations within defined 12-week cycles, meeting agreed timelines and milestones
  • Track and manage programme-level KPIs, including volume, quality, risk, and schedule adherence
  • Drive on-time, in-scope delivery across all migration waves

Planning & Sequencing

  • Define and maintain the migration roadmap, including wave planning and site sequencing
  • Manage interdependencies across sites, teams, and technologies
  • Align migration schedules with resource capacity and business constraints
  • Ensure readiness criteria are consistently met before migration execution

Governance & Controls

  • Establish and enforce standardised processes, frameworks, and controls across all migrations
  • Ensure consistent application of quality thresholds, documentation standards, and acceptance criteria
  • Lead programme governance forums, including steering committees and stakeholder reviews
  • Maintain clear audit trails and reporting structures

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary escalation point for both internal teams and client stakeholders
  • Provide clear, proactive communication on programme status, risks, and decisions
  • Manage expectations across senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities and outcomes
  • Facilitate collaboration across technical, operational, and business teams

Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify, assess, and manage programme-level risks and issues
  • Ensure mitigation plans are in place and actively tracked
  • Prevent single-site delays from cascading into subsequent migration cycles
  • Escalate critical risks with clear recommendations and actions

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive a repeatable migration delivery model, improving efficiency across cycles
  • Capture lessons learned and embed them into future waves
  • Standardise best practices to reduce variability and increase predictability
  • Identify opportunities to optimise delivery, reduce risk, and improve quality

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience managing large-scale migration or transformation programmes
  • Strong understanding of programme management methodologies
  • Strong understanding of Qube
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex dependencies and multi-site delivery
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong risk management and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-change environments
